About Us

Critter Country Chihuahuas started out with one chihuahua that melted our hearts. We bought our first female and quickly decided that chihuahuas were not what people said they were. They were not the yappy, ankle biting monsters people made them out to be. We were in fact delighted to find that they are extremely smart, trainable and the most loyal and affectionate breed of dog that anyone can imagine.
They have the special bonus of being small, which means they can be with us practically anywhere we want to go.

Our puppies are raised in the home. We socialize our puppies early to ensure health and happiness when they go to their new homes. They are socialized with children, cats and other dogs. We work with the pups many times a day; inside and out. They also get their nails trimmed, experience their first bath and are discouraged from bad habits such as chewing and biting.
